Welcome! The UBC Polar Club is a community of Arctic, Antarctic, and subarctic student researchers here at UBC. Our aim is to promote cross-disciplinary dialogue and network building around issues in regions and communities uniquely affected by ongoing changes in the global climate and environment.

We extend invitations to students of all levels and interests to join our network, make use of the various resources available through the Polar Club, and engage with issues of continuity and change in these regions. Regardless of your disciplinary background or scholarly inclinations, we encourage all students and faculty with interests in these areas to join in the discussion!

Partnership with Green College

We are excited to announce our partnership with Green College for a three year Arctic Lecture Series! Beginning in the fall of 2014, we will welcome guest lecturers from a variety of disciplines, who will speak to the rapidly changing developments in the Canadian and circumpolar north.

What's New for 2014?

2014 has seen a spike in interest in all things polar, and all things Polar Club. We're hoping to raise interest and awareness of a variety of issues. For more information about what we're up to, and how you can help, click here.
